HE® SOUNDTRACK Soundtrack is a new monthly feature that will keep you up-to-date on programs, scheduling and what’s happening at HBO. Your comments are always welcome. Drop us a line and let us know what you’re thinking. Children’s Programming “NEW” seems to be the key word this month. The Guide has a new look. The new Standing Room Only series kicks off with This Was Burlesque. And there’s a new spring of World Team tennis. Also we’re particularly proud of HBO Playhouse, the new series of children’s programs that will run through the summer. This group of movies comes from BBC, the producers of earlier films which showed on HBO and went on to win a public broadcasting award for “Achievement in Children’s Television.” Quality children’s programming continues to be a mainstay at HBO. Hockey and basketball playoffs We want to call your attention to one more programming note—the beginning of professional basketball and hockey playoffs. In this month’s schedule there are five probable playoff dates: April 7,12,21,27,28. The final playoff schedule and the contenders will not be decided until well after this guide goes to press. We’ve tried to determine which nights these playoff games will be and if we’re right, the schedule will remain unchanged. If a playoff happens at a time we have not scheduled, we’ll try to show the game and run the movie it replaces at the time the game was originally scheduled. We hope you’ll appreciate the difficulty of scheduling these playoff games, and we’ll try our best to minimize the interruptions of the regular schedule. Fridays and Sundays are premiere nights Much is new this month—and every month. However, you can still look to Friday and Sunday nights for the premiere showings of new films or specials. Wednesdays continue to be premiere nights for classics and foreign films. For your convenience these programs run again at different times on different days during the next four weeks.
